AXA Smart Traveller's Choice is an insurance covering outbound travel from Thailand to overseas. There are 2 type of policy i.e. single trip and annual trip.
- Single trip has 3 different plans i.e. Basic, Advance, and Max.
- Annual trip also has 3 different plans i.e. Basic, Advance, and Max.
For those who plan to travel frequently throughout the year, whether for leisure, work, or personal business, AXA recommends purchasing an annual trip plan as it provides better option. Not only does it offer coverage for every trip throughout the year with a one-time purchase, but it also eliminates the worry of finding a new travel insurance plan for each trip. Additionally, the annual trip plan offers maximum coverage of 180 days per trip, reducing the time spent searching for new travel insurance for the next trip.
To buy travel insurance online with AXA, what should I do?
In order to ensure travel insurance coverage from the start of your trip, you can decide to purchase travel insurance up to 180 days before your trip, until the very last minute before your departure, while you are still in Thailand and have not yet started your trip. However, it is advisable to purchase insurance immediately after booking or paying for your trips to ensure full protection from unexpected events that may occur before and during your travels. What is the travel Insurance for Schengen visa? Which plan should I purchase?
The travel insurance plan for applying for a Schengen visa must have the following coverage:
- Sum insured at least 30,000 Euros or approximately 1.5 million Baht.
- Must cover medical expenses related to injury and sickness, emergency medical evacuation, or repatriation to Thailand, as well as expenses for repatriation of remains back to Thailand while travelling within the Schengen area.
AXA's travel insurance is accepted by embassies in the Schengen area. All AXA travel insurance plans comply with the Schengen visa criteria, and you can see the "Schengen Visa Approved" symbol during the insurance purchase process.
If your visa application is refused for any reason, AXA will fully refund your insurance premium. However, you must provide evidence of the visa refusal from the embassy and notify AXA before the policy start date.
Which countries/territories are not covered by AXA international travel insurance?
AXA international travel insurance policy does not cover any loss or damage arising from or as a result of traveling to, travelling through, or travelling within the following countries:
- Afghanistan, Belarus, Crimea (Including Sevastopol), Cuba, Iran, Nepal (Only areas higher than 1,500 m. above sea level), North Korea, Russia, Syria, Myanmar, Ukrainian Regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia and Venezuela.
- AXA shall not provide any coverage, pay any claims, or provide any benefit that would expose AXA to any sanctions, prohibition, or restriction under United States (US), United Nations (UN), or European Unions (EU) economic or trade sanctions, AXA sanction Policy and any other law and regulations related to sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
