AXA Thailand General Insurance Proposes “Skill Driving Experience” to VIP Business Partners and Customers to Promote Safe Driving

AXA Thailand General Insurance reinforces its commitment to safety by inviting valued business partners, customers, employees and media to the Skill Driving Experience Program. The two days session held at the Pathum Thani Speedway consisted of advanced training for safe driving and for handling unexpected situations on the road.

The Skill Driving Experience Program consisted of two sessions.During themorning session, a team ofhighly experienced instructors gave participants an introduction on driving behaviorand safety.They explainedthe importance of adjusting the driver’s seat position, howthe powertraincan affect responsiveness,and the correct wayto hold thesteering wheel to ensure optimal vehicle control.Thegroup also learned about the different breakdowns for front-wheel, rear-wheel and four-wheel drive vehicles, and were given valuable pointersto reduce the risk of an accident.

During the afternoon session, participantsheaded out to the speedway to puttheory into practice. Theywent behind the wheel of Mercedes Benz, BMW and Subaru vehicles to brush up on their driving skills and participated in three track stations:Oversteering, Brakes and Emergency Handling,under the direct supervision of the instructors.Difficultsituations were simulated,and behind-the-wheel exercises were implementedto give them afeelof actual circumstanceswhere skills and maneuvers can help avoid accidents and save lives. Demonstrations and practice activitieswere played out to give the drivers confidenceand teach them how tostay calmand in control of their vehicle even under pressure.

Participant Prasit Kumgurd, Deputy Managing Director, Road Accident Victims Protection Co., Ltd., shared his thoughts after the activity. “This taught us various driving techniques and skills, so we can handle unexpected situations on the road. The experience emphasized how good driving behavior can contribute greatly to road safety. Unfortunately, Thailand’s accident rate is very high, so I invite everyone to enhance their driving skills because when we are safe, others will be safe, too.
